Berit Oxley (2024-2025)
Dear Members and Prospective Members of Lambda Omicron Xi,
Welcome to the UC Davis 2024-2025 academic year! I hope you are as excited as I am, and I am grateful that LOXi has found you.
My name is Berit Oxley, and I am honored to serve as President of Lambda Omicron Xi this year. I want to recognize my predecessor, Sravya Gonaguntla, for her outstanding leadership and for earning President of the Year at the Sorority and Fraternity Life (SFL) awards last spring! I hope to be just as steady and hardworking in upholding the values of our organization, supporting both current members and those who wish to join our community.
I came to UC Davis in Fall 2021 as a freshman, feeling unsure if Greek Life was right for me. I stumbled upon LOXi at the Involvement Fair on campus and was immediately interested in an organization focused on community service, inclusivity, and professional development. Once I attended the first sit-in meeting, I felt instantly welcomed and excited about what this organization could bring me. Since then, I have made beautiful friendships, felt truly connected to the campus community and the city of Davis, been encouraged and supported academically and professionally, and made many unforgettable memories.
With three years in leadership—as Marketing Chair, Academic Chair, and now President—I have witnessed our organization's growth and resilience firsthand. I am especially proud of our new DEI board position, which will help make our inclusivity goals even more concrete, from our internal processes to our community outreach. A fundamental and enduring part of LOXi is how we come together from all different backgrounds, identities, majors, years, and career goals, yet we are united in our passion for service. I am dedicated to celebrating our diverse backgrounds, while actively listening to our members and implementing the changes they want to see this year.
To those considering joining, I encourage you to keep an open mind and get to know our kind members. As you attend more events, I am confident you will find our community genuine, uplifting, and dedicated. If you have a passion for service and an interest in finding community on campus, then you have come to the right place!
To our current members, thank you for trusting me with this position and supporting me throughout the years. I am deeply grateful for all that this organization has given me, and I’m honored to be in a position to uplift members and drive us forward as we enter this next chapter.
To our alumni, I miss you dearly, and I hope to see you at Benefit Ball or an alumni event this year!
